OPPOSITION political leaders aspiring to be in power must not label those who are in government to be corrupt because they would be labeled as such when their turn comes, says former deputy minister of Foreign Affairs Gabriel Namulambe

Mr Namulambe said in an interview that the corruption tag would be on the country regardless of who is in the office if the trend of calling those in government corrupt continued.

He said it was the duty of every Zambian, including political leaders to clean the corruption tag against Zambia by creating a good image to the outside world about the nation.

“Those who would want to be in government must not label those who are in government to be corrupt because in the same way that they label those to be corrupt, it would be the same way those who will go in if at all will go in will also be labeled,” he said.

Mr Namulambe, a former official of the United Party for National Development, has advised Zambians to ensure that the word “corruption’’ is not tagged to the country.

He said Zambians are the ones who should tell the outside world that there is no corruption in the country instead of being in the forefront painting a bad image about their own country to the outside world. He has urged Zambians with the interest of the country at heart to work towards removing the corruption tag on the nation.
