Make Us Proud, U-20 Told

By Michael Miyoba

Lusaka based soccer analyst Reuben Kamanga has urged the Beston Chambeshi tutored under 20 boys to focus on collecting maximum points against a Mali side that drew 0-0 with Egypt in its first game of the under 20 AfCON Tournament.

Mali and Zambia will today rock horns at National Heroes Stadium in their second group A fixture to be played at 18 hours.

And Kamanga feels that Mali is a formidable side with a lot of good players who can give Zambia a tough time during their encounter at National Heroes Stadium.

“Let them forget about the first game. It was important starting with a win against Guinea in the first game but focus should now be on today’s game against Mali.

“Look at the strength Mali displayed in the game against Egypt. They played good football. And one thing our boys should realize is that there is no weak team in the group,” Kamanga said.

He noted that the win against Mali will guarantee the junior chipolopolo’s automatic qualification for the 2017 under-20 South Korea world cup hence the need for the boys to focus on defeating Mali in today’s game.

“This is a great opportunity for the boys to qualify for the South Korea world cup and the win against Mali will ensure that we qualify for the world cup,” Kamanga said.

“The boys are the future of Zambian football and them qualifying for the under 20 South Korea world cup will work to their advantage as players,” he added.

Kamanga has also called on the Beston Chambeshi lead technical bench to work on the Mistakes the boys made during their first game against Guinea.

He noted that the junior chipolopolo made several mistakes in defense and were not clinical in finishing in the striking force during their first game against Guinea.
