MORE than 100 companies have confirmed participation at the Copperbelt Agricultural, Mining Networking and Entrepreneurship Exhibition (CAMINEX) set for June 6 to 8, 2017.

Copperbelt Show Society chairman London Mwafulilwa said the trade exhibition was well positioned to provide a platform to stimulate business in the agricultural, mining and industrial sectors in the Copperbelt area.

Mr Mwafulilwa said in a statement to the Daily Nation that during the trade exhibition, Mines Minister Christopher Yaluma’s  address would consider the outlook for Zambia’s mineral market from 2017 to 2020.

He said the minister would talk about mineral development as a vehicle of diversification, key challenges facing the future development of Zambia’s mineral industry and assessing the impact of infrastructure constraints on mining development.

“Apart from the Mines minister speaking at the exhibition, there will be more other speakers at the show or exhibition. So I can tell you that all is set. So far, 135 companies have confirmed their participation at this year’s show.

“The exhibition will take place from 6th to 8th June at the show grounds and visitors will benefit from the extensive pool of knowledge available to them from the large number of technical experts on exhibition stands and through the free-to-attend seminars,” Mr Mwafulilwa said.

He said the exhibition would also focus on agriculture and experts from various institutions will be given chance to speak on issues affecting agriculture.

During the free-to-attend seminars, speakers taking the platform will include Leon Kotze, head of agribusiness at Standard Bank who will look at raising financing for agriculture and farm management.

He said other experts such as Brian Malambo, technical manager, Southern Africa, at BASF Zambia, will talk about the role of technology in agriculture and how it was driving modern farming.”Ballard Zulu will also unpack the topic of the use of technology for increasing production and productivity. Issues of energy will also be discussed at the exhibition. We want the show to be well positioned to provide a platform to stimulate business in the agricultural, mining and industrial sectors in the Copperbelt area,” he said.
