FORLI Limited, the official kit sponsors of the MTN/FAZ Super League side City of Lusaka Football Club, has called on the Chilenje-based club to work hard if they are to remain in the Premier League.
Speaking during the unveiling of the new kit to be worn by City in the 2017 soccer season, Forli Limited chairman Diego Casilli said the company will continue to sponsor City of Lusaka for the 2017 MTN/FAZ Super League season.
Casilli said Forli Limited had invested about K4 million in the operations of City of Lusaka for the 2017 soccer season, hence the need for the club to work hard and deliver good results.
He also called on other corporate organizations to support the club, noting that it was costly to manage a big club like City of Lusaka.
“We have invested about K3 000 000 to K4 000 000 – that’s for the new kit we have launched, the renovations at the stadium and for the food the players will be eating when in camp,” Casilli said.
“Right now we don’t want to put them under any pressure. As sponsors we would be happy if the boys won the league but at the moment we just want them to survive and remain in the Premier League,” he added.
Casilli said that the 27 City of Lusaka players will be given contracts, noting that football was now a business.
And City of Lusaka chairman Justin Zulu commended Forli Limited for providing the club with a new kit.
Zulu assured the sponsor that the club will do its best to deliver great results when the league kicks off.
‘‘We appreciate the good quality kit that you have provided us with. We will make sure that we deliver our very best.
City will be a team to reckon with when the league resumes,” Zulu said.
And City of Lusaka head coach Elijah Chikwanda said the gesture by Forli Limited will motivate the players to deliver good results.
Chikwanda noted that City was a team of youthful players capable of delivering good results.
