….. As elite league new-comers Buildcon, Nakonde draw

By MICHAEL MIYOBA

MTN/FAZ Super league side Power Dynamos yesterday defeated Napsa Starts 1-0 in a FAZ Week Two fixture at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.

Substitute Jimmy Ndhlovu scored in the 85th  minute for the Danny Kabwe-tutored side to walk away with maximum three points.

Speaking in a post-match interview, Kabwe said he was impressed with his team’s performance.

He said the game was tough but that he was happy with his boys for collecting maximum points against a determined Napsa Stars side.

“The game was tough but we just made use of the chance we had. We could have gone two-nil up had we scored the other chance but nevertheless we used our experience in today’s game and that’s what counts.

“This is a morale booster for us. We are working on our team. In every game, we learn some lessons and we are still learning. We are still working on the mistakes we make in each match and that is why we train every day in order to improve our game,” Kabwe said.

Meanwhile, Napsa Stars head coach Tenant Chilumba said he was impressed with his team’s performance despite losing to Power.

Chilumba said Napsa played good football against a power Dynamos side which was playing at home with their supporters rallying behind them.

“We lost concentration in the last minutes of the game. We started giving them set pieces.  If you are playing a team like Power you don’t have to make silly mistakes and we were punished. However, I am happy with the overall performance of the team.

“It’s a youthful team but the performance was fantastic. It’s a game of football, we conceded in today’s much but we will go and work on our mistakes,” Chilumba said.

In other games played at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola, Buildcon drew 0-0 with Kabwe Warriors while Perry Mutapa’s Forest Rangers drew 1-1 with newly promoted Real Nakonde.
