POWER Dynamos fans have called for the dismissal of head coach Dany Kabwe following the team’s poor showing in the 2017 MTN/FAZ Super league.

The fans who witnessed their team go down 0-3 loss to Green Buffaloes on Saturday chanted “DK must go” as the coach was escorted by the police from Arthur Davis Stadium.

Power have struggled in the recent past losing 0-1 to Nkana in the local derby played in Kitwe and went on to record a 1-all draw with Zesco United before the 3-0 bashing by Buffaloes.

Commenting on the fans demands Kabwe said that there was need for the Power sympathizers to analyze the team before calling for his sacking.

Kabwe said that it was disappointing to see Power struggling despite having good players at his disposal.

“If I’m not delivering I have to go. With a disappointing result like todays, you think I’m impressed? But there is need for the fans to analyze the whole thing,

“We do everything possible but it’s just the motivation and the approach by some players which is not there. If it’s me then I have to go but I have a contract with the club and I will continue to work,” said Kabwe.

And Green Buffaloes coach Bilton Musonda commended his boys for putting up a spirited fight in the game against Power.

Musonda said Buffaloes will continue to challenge for the league title as they have the players to compete for the tittle.

“We deserved to win. We knew that Power would be a difficult team to beat but they missed their chances and we utilized our chances well,

“We haven’t gone out of contention, we are still fighting for the title and playing continental football next season. If you can contribute four players to the national team what can stop you from competing in continental competitions? We have players who can compete in continental competitions,” he said

Meanwhile NAPSA Stars head coach Lenos Makwaza has hailed ‘Mighty’ Mufulira Wanderers for beating the 2017 Barclays Cup silver medalists 2-1 in a week 33 fixture played on Saturdays at Sunset Stadium in Lusaka.

Makwaza said that ‘Mighty’ played well and deserved maximum three points against his charges that failed to use home ground advantage.

He however noted that he would continue to encourage his boys to win their remaining league fixtures.

“We never played as expected and that’s football coming from a loss in the Barclays Cup. We can’t cry over spilt milk. Wanderers played well and they deserved to win,

“I don’t want to talk about officiating. You saw the final, you saw today’s game which wasn’t balanced and I think there are the ones who can look into officiating issue. We will keep on pushing the boys and hopefully we will be able to win the remaining games,” Makwaza said.

COSAFA media officer Lynda Greeff, said Egypt and Uganda will play as guest teams.

In a statement issued to Daily Nation Sports the two countries will join another 10 Southern African teams in the tournament which will be hosted by defending champions Zambia.

Zambia beat South Africa 2-1 in last year’s final which was played at Moruleng Stadium in Rustenburg to lift the trophy.

“The 12 nations that will compete in the 2017 COSAFA Under-20 Championships to be staged in Zambia from December 6-16 have been confirmed with two exciting guest teams set to light up the regional showpiece event,

“North African powerhouse Egypt will be sending their crop of youngsters along with East African side Uganda, who have made great strides in senior football in the last few years,” said Greeff.

The draw for the first round group stages will be held next week with 12 teams to be placed in three pool each containing four sides.

The group winners will then advance to the semifinals along with the best runners-up,using the same format that was used during the COSAFA Women’s Championship that was held in September.

The matches will be played at the Arthur Davies and Nkana Stadium with the final anticipated to be played at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

The final 12 teams that will take part in this’s year’s Zambia under- 20 COSAFA championship include six-time winners Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia and last year’s beaten finalists South Africa.

Angola, who have never lifted the trophy despite playing in four finals, Swaziland, guests Egypt and   Uganda will join host nation Zambia to complete the 12- team list that will compete at COSAFA youth championship.
