PRESIDENT Michael Sata is ready to sacrifice Foreign Affairs Minister Given Lubinda whose expulsion is eminent when he arrives back from Japan in order to satisfy few selfish and corrupt individuals.

Senior PF officials, who stormed the Daily Nation after a successful petition for the expulsion of Mr. Lubinda, said that President Sata was the cause of the confusion in the Patriotic Front (PF).

The officials who are also in the PF central committee said that it was now clear that President Sata and Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba meant no good to the party by targeting loyal and credible members of the party.

They said that it was uncalled for, for Mr. Kabimba and President Sata to eliminate people who tirelessly helped the party to get into government.

They said that President Sata had issued specific instructions to get rid of Mr. Lubinda who is also Kabwata area Member of Parliament in order to bring in those that would support the PF’s direction on the constitution making process.

“There are many issues on which party officials have spoken against with respect to the powers of Mr. Kabimba. Since the PF formed government this man has quickly changed and some of the things he says we fear and shudder to bear.  It is strange that he is targeting people who helped him and the party to be in power,” they said.

They said that it was unfortunate that President Sata had also endorsed the harassment and victimization of senior party officials by Mr. Kabimba who is determined to clear his way to the PF presidency.

They said they would never allow the PF leadership to auction the party to people like Mr. Kabimba whose agenda was hidden and engulfed in corrupt activities, adding that President Sata should not feel powerful because soon people would run away from him like they did with former President Rupiah Banda.

“We shall not accept the party to be led by Mr. Kabimba, even the President himself knows that. He is also feeling it. If it is Wynter he wants to succeed him, and then let him forget because for his own information, Wynter has no constituency even here in Lusaka. He has no following. The boys he is buying beers and paying to protest were not his, those are just doing it for money,” they said.

And Mr. Kabimba has said that he was not corrupt, adding that he was ready now to be investigated by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to bring to an end to the allegations that had impacted negatively on the investigations and the ruling party.

Mr. Kabimba who is also PF secretary general said that he did not understand why people think he does not support the fight against corruption.

He said he was a strong believer in the fight against corruption contrary to reports that he was an hindrance to eliminating corruption in the country.

And PF cadres yesterday demanded for the expulsion of Kabwata erea Member of Parliament Given Lubinda.

Supporting Mr. Kabimba’s plan to have Mr. Lubinda out of the party, the youths accused Mr. Lubinda of being a traitor to the ruling party.

Meanwhile according to reports Foreign affairs Minister Given Lubinda has challenged PF Secretary General and Justice minister Wynter Kabimba to make public the exculpatory letter he had written to the Central Committee of the party.

Reacting to the matter in which Mr. Kabimba gave him seven days to defend himself against treachery charges, Mr. Lubinda said his obligation was to respond to the party’s concerns and that it was now the responsibility of the party Secretary to announce his response. “He asked me to exculpate myself and that I have done, now it is up to him to inform you what I have said in my letter. He should not hesitate to go public with my response because he announced the decision against me, let him give you a copy of my letter,” he said.

On Monday last week, Mr. Kabimba announced that Lubinda would face disciplinary charges for working with the opposition UPND and MMD against government.
