IT is sad that the same disgruntled individuals who were criticising President Edgar Lungu over his foreign trips are accusing him of failing to attend the African Union (AU) summit, says. Lusaka Province PF youth chairperson Kennedy Kamba.

And the Evangelical Youth Alliance (EYA) has charged that President Lungu’s critics had been shamed that he had concentrated on inspecting local projects aimed at enhancing service provision.

Mr. Kamba said some hooligans within the cartel, using visionless media institutions were simply changing goal-posts on which angle to attack President Lungu but said they would not succeed because Zambians knew their agenda.

He was commenting on assertions that the President had delegated Vice President Inonge Wina to attend the AU Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia due to pressure at home,  Mr Kamba said it did not make sense that the same people who were asking President Lungu to reduce on foreign trips not long ago were now alleging that pressure had forced him to stay away from meeting his fellow Heads of State. “That is what happens when you are driven by blind loyalty to the cartel where you are paraded to propagate a mission you least understand.  The same media house which has been attacking the President over his foreign trips has now changed and is questioning why he has not gone for the AU summit using anonymous sources forgetting that they were against these trips not long ago.

“President Lungu’s concentration now is on ensuring that all the projects that had stalled are being implemented and this is creating fear among the opposition political parties because they know that come 2021, we will just be pointing at what we have done and people will vote for us based on that record,” Mr. Kamba said.

Meanwhile, EYA executive director Reverend Moses Lungu said those who were hiding under the guise of anonymous sources to attack the presidency where shameless critics who had no idea on how Government runs.
