DETAILS from PACRA have emerged showing that Roan Member of Parliament Chishimba Kambwili lied over his allegations that Finance Minister Felix Mutati and President Edgar Lungu own Luntex Construction Company which they are allegedly using to engage in corrupt activities.
A search by the Daily Nation at PACRA found that Luntex Construction Company is co-owned by former State House permanent secretary Emmanuel Chilubanama and his brother Wesley Chilubanama.
And MMD national treasurer Christopher Banda has charged that Mr. Kambwili must apologise to Zambians whom he had continued to mislead through his mudslinging campaign he is waging against his political opponents now that he had been exposed. PACRA records also show that the company, whose physical address is House No. 4, Matandani Close, Rhodes Park, Lusaka, was incorporated on July 9, 2012, almost three years before President Lungu ascended to the presidency.
Speaking to the Daily Nation yesterday, Mr. Banda demanded for an apology from Mr. Kambwili to the Zambians for lying that the company was owned by Mr, Mutati and who was allegedly in a partnership with either President Lungu or Mr. Chilubanama as a proxy institution used to syphon public funds through corrupt activities.
Mr. Banda said there was need for Mr. Kambwili as a parliamentarian to engage in civil politics devoid of malice and save Zambians from political ambiguity.
“Just the same way he misled the people, we expect Mr. Kambwili to apologise to the Zambians for peddling lies, malice, and showing hatred to those he perceives as his enemies because the truth has now come out.
“Records at PACRA are clear. Let him now state at what point Mr. Mutati took-over as the owner of Luntex, the company he says is being used for corruption,” said Mr. Banda.
He wondered where Mr. Kambwili was getting the information he was disseminating without verifying and why he found comfort in peddling lies and tarnishing the image of his perceived enemies.
During a press briefing held at his house on Monday this week, Mr. Kambwili claimed that Mr. Mutati, together with either President Lungu or Mr. Chilubanama co-owned Luntex, a company they are allegedly using to get Government contracts in a corrupt manner.
