THE Daily Nation has access to a leaked Grade 9 mathematics examination paper that has been circulated on social media.

The paper, mistakenly posted on a SESTUZ Whatsapp group by a Siavonga teacher, has gone viral.

The teacher was arrested after he mistakenly posted a Grade 9 Mathematics Examination paper on a SESTUZ  WhatsApp group thinking he was sending it to his pupils.

The teacher, whose identity has been withheld, but is from Chaanga Secondary School is in Police custody after attempts to cover up the crime failed.

And according to a source at the District Education Board Secretary’s office who requested anonymity, the matter was reported to the Eduction authorities by some teachers who are on the same WhatsApp Group where the teacher mistakenly posted the entire 14-page Mathematic Paper for 2017 Grade Nine examinations.

Meanwhile, Sesheke District Education Board Secretary (DEBS) Mubonda Katukula has warned all the invigilating teachers in his district against engaging themselves in all forms of exam malpractice.

Mr. Mubonda has warned that any teacher who will be found wanting will be dealt with both the law the education authorities.

He told the Daily Nation in an interview that he will not allow any teacher who will engage in exam malpractice like it has been reported in other parts of the country.

Mr. Mubonda disclosed that so far, the district has not recorded any malpractice in any way from the time when the Grade (9s) started writing their examinations.

He urged all the teachers who have been sworn in to handle the examination classes to refrain from unethical behaviors during the exam period.

The DEBS disclosed that all the Grade Nine (9) examination materials have been delivered to all schools in the district except the nearby schools where his office will be delivering the materials on daily basis.

The Grade Nines (9s) started writing on the 26th of September with computer studies and last week on the 20th of October they started writing their theory papers.” Said Mr. Mubonda

Mr. Mubonda also disclosed that the Grade Sevens (7s) will be writing their examinations in the first week of November while the Grade Twelve (12s) will be starting writing on Monday the 30th of October.

His advice to all the examination candidates to work hard and avoid being in conflict with the law.

Mr. Mubonda said that relying on examination leakages after their teachers have made all the efforts in teaching them on how to handle the examinations will just end up messing their future.
