A HOUSEWIFE told a Local Court in Lusaka that her husband doesn’t want to be touched and that he sleeps at the edge of the bed and they make love three times in a month. Falesi Mtonga, 38, of Kuku compound was testifying in a case in which her husband, Vincent Jere, 46, sued her for reconciliation. The two got married in 2007 and have three children. Jere told Senior Court Magistrate Miyanda Banda sitting with Magistrate Pauline Newa at Matero Local Court that problems started in 2008 because each time Mtonga went to visit her parents, she would return after two days. He said that Mtonga’s mother told him that her daughter was free to stay even for four days since she was her child. Jere further told the court that they failed to resolve the matter at home because Mtonga’s relatives failed to turn up for the planned meetings on several occasions In defence, Mtonga said that she was a second woman to be married to Jere and that problems started in 2013 when he married another woman. She said since then Jere stopped bringing enough money home and opted to be paying monthly rentals for another woman of K650. She explained that was the reason she went to her parents where his relatives would tell her to wait so that they gave her money. She said there was no love in the house because Jere fused to be touched and that he slept at the edge of the bed, adding that they made love three times in a month. “Yes, my mother said that I can stay even for four days because Jere said that we were divorced,” said Mtonga. Magistrate Banda said that there was lack of communication because Mtonga was supposed to tell Jere each time she decided to spend nights at her parents’ home. He, however, reconciled the couple since they were both willing.
