A WASTE management team has partnered with Chipata Water Trust in Mandevu constituency for easy subscription of garbage waste collection in the area, says Raphael Chota Ward 22 councillor Joseph Tamba.
In an interview with the Daily Nation, Mr Tamba said the area has also received a tractor for the collection to waste and that the water tariff has been adjusted upwards from 40 ngwee to 50 ngwee .
‘‘People will no longer be paying directly to the waste management team but through Chipata Water Trust and the tractor carrying water will only be supplying those who have subscribed,’’ he said.
He hoped that garbage will be collected on a daily basis and that the area will now be garbage free and water shortages will soon be a thing of the past if every household continued subscribing.
Mr Tamba said in future the trust will also partner with Lusaka Water Sewerage Company (LWSC) in Kababana site and service township to end water challenges following the installation of a 100-litre water tank.
The councillor said the road network in his ward was a major concern as many areas lacked proper roads, hence he will ensure that he delivered what he promised the people during campaigns.
