THE ruling Patriotic Front (PF) in North Western Province has commended United Party for National Development (UPND) Manyinga Member of Parliament Robert Lihefu for coming out  in the open that he wants to work with the government of the day if development is to be realised in his constituency.

PF provincial chairperson Emmanuel Chihili said that the stance taken by Mr Lihefu was the right one as it was aimed at taking development in his constituency to higher levels.

Mr Chihili noted that a Member of Parliament alone could not deliver development to the people without working closely with government of the day.

“Let me take this opportunity to thank and commend the Manyinga Member of Parliament Mr Lihefu for showing his willingness to work closely with the PF government.

“That is how it should be because this is not time for politicking but time to work and deliver development to the people,” said Mr Chihili.

He said people in the province have high expectations from their Members of Parliament.

He also called on other MPs to take a leaf from Mr Lihefu instead of working in isolation.

He said politics should be put aside and people concentrate on development because that was what the people in the province were looking for.

“It’s not a secret anymore. They need to deliver what they promised the people and if they want to work in isolation it will just be a name that they were once MPs because people are so expectant to see real development,” he said.
