NGWERERE ward councillor Adrian Banda says many projects are underway in the area apart from the construction of a new Garden traffic police post and the building of a Level One hospital.

Speaking to the Daily Nation in an interview yesterday, Mr Banda said that working for the people in his ward was not an issue of waiting on Government to give aid.

He said that involving stakeholders in development projects in the community was important as they contributed greatly towards development.

“Engaging stakeholders in developing our communities is very important unlike waiting for Government to fund community projects which takes much time,” he said.

Mr Banda said that among the works to be done in his ward was the construction of the new Mtonyo market and a local court in Site 3 of Garden compound as soon as funds were available.

He called on other leaders embarking on development projects to respect stakeholders as they played an important role in developing communities.

He said that he had since purchased a truck for garbage collection in Garden as there had been careless disposal of waste in the area.

“I hope to bring sanity back to my ward by working hard for the people who voted for me in every way I can,” he said.
