Struggling Nkana have coach worried

Coach Kelvin Kaindu has expressed concern with the depth of his team which has struggled to impress in the last six games which have all ended in defeats.

Speaking in an interview after Nkana’s 3-0 bashing by Egyptian giants Pyramids FC in the Caf Confederations Cup Group D fixture in Egypt, Kaindu said pressure was mounting for the Kitwe giants who are in the relegation zone on the Super Division.

Kaindu said there is need to motivate the players and regulate a training programme which will ensure that the players have enough rest while focusing on both the Confederations Cup fixtures and the Super Division.

“Looking at the depth of the team we have, we may have to make tough decisions but basically we have the same players playing in the league and the Confederations Cup. “We just have to start winning as soon as possible.

What we need to do is to bring the players into shape and motivate them to gain back their confidence which is lacking,” Kaindu said. Kaindu said Nkana are playing well but their only problem is the defence. “There are a few areas where we need to improve on. We are going forward but it is unfortunate we fail to score.

We always create chances but the biggest concern is in the way we defend,” Kaindu said. The defending champions are 16th on the Super Division table with 20 points but have played four games less than the league leaders Zesco United who are on 40 points
