GBM, be man enough

Editor,

I was almost advising GBM to be man enough and come out from   hiding but I then remembered the old adage that ‘cowards live longer’. Mwandini, keep hiding. Prisons life is hell. And since you have relatives in South Africa through your mother who I hear is from that country, you may also wish to go there. Sometimes playing a hero just for the sake of it, does not pay except invite troubles.

Jim, Maimane lost souls

Editor,

I read somewhere that South Africa is becoming a mafia state. Does that not worry the two gentlemen who have the cheek to poke their ugly noses into our affairs? They should be told in no uncertain terms that we shall not relent because ours is purely a legal matter. Anyway what can you expect from xenophobic minds?

Approved Zesco tariffs too high

Editor,

The approved 75% electricity tariff by ERB is beyond the reach of the common Zambians. The majority of Zambians are living below the poverty datum line in both urban and rural areas. Though, Zesco have their own reasons for increasing the tariffs, ERB should have passionately looked at the pocket of a Zambian out there. Since we cannot continue crying over spilled milk, I am optimistic that the money that Zesco will raise, will be reinvested in power generating and not buying posh cars for directors.

Thanks GRZ for powering up chililabombwe schools

Editor,

I would like to commend the government for connecting seven schools in Chililabombwe to the national electricity grid. This will go a long way in effectively managing computer lessons as enshrined in the revised curriculum. As a person who was born and bred in chililabombwe, I am exhilarated that Kasapa, Butondo, Lubansa, Kawama, Fitobaula, Malubeni and Chimfunshi primary schools now have electricity. Chililabombwe which now has seven public secondary schools is developing at a very fast rate and must be supported in all spheres.

Central Province minister is a hard worker

Editor,

Bwacha MP Sydney Mushanga is a man who is always out in the field on duty. I have followed his dedication to duty both as MP and minister for Central Province, and I am pleased with the law maker, President Lungu should sit back and relax, as Mr Mushanga is ably executing his duties honorably to the best of his ability. The man has been to almost all districts in the province. The minister is worthy emulating by all those in positions of authority.

Lumwana Mine deserves commendation

Editor,

The construction of K1.4 million water kiosks by Lumwana mining company deserves commendation. The five water kiosks in Kalumbila district will cater for over 1,500 residents and help improve the well being of the women and children. The company’s corporate social responsibility should be emulated by mining companies like Luanshya Copper mines. All mining firms must supplement government efforts in up lifting standards of living in the areas in which they operate. Lastly, I am making a passionate appeal to Konkola Copper Konkola blades football club before the end of the mid season break in conformity with modern football worldwide.

Improved work culture at Ndola Stanbic Bank

Editor,

I am really impressed with the improved attitude towards customers at Ndola main branch of Stanbic. The workers at the bank are doing the level best to attend to customers concerns with mutual respect and a sense of urgency. I recently went to the bank and I was impressed with the attitude of the employees. The welcoming smile and individual attention is what most customers want. It is my hope and prayer that this will continue as all employees at Stanbic bank should know that they owe their existence to the customer, be it corporate or individual. Keep it up!

Roan shopping mall should employ local people

Editor,

It is gratifying that works on the construction of Roan shopping mall in Luanshya is progressing very well. A check at the mall recently revealed that the first ever mall in Luanshya is almost complete. For a long time we have been crying for a mall in Luanshya to cater for surrounding areas like Mpongwe and Masaiti. Luanshya has a lot of grade 12 school leavers and skilled young men and women who should be taken on by the new facility.
