THE PATIROTIC Front in Ndola has said that Vice President Inonge Wina refused to entangle the party in the wrangles that have rocked the province in the recent past.

Ndola PF secretary Benjamin Chitondo told the Daily Nation yesterday that during her last visit, Ms Wina refused to address the issue of demands by some protesters who wanted her to direct the council to allow the councillors offer pieces of land to enable the PF raise funds for party mobilization.

Mr Chitondo in his statement distanced the party from all illegal land dealing in the Copperbelt town which has seen hundreds of people entangled in criminal acts.

Mr Chitondo said some affected residents have been calling on Government to intervene but that it was not in the ruling party interest to get entangled in illegalities.

“Information reaching me is that some of the party members from the security youth wing staged a protest calling for the removal of provincial minister Bowman Lusambo over his stance on illegal land dealings.

“Maybe the minister should begin to address the issues on the Copperbelt Province systematically to talk to the people through party structures as well as address the issue of land wrangles from the people on the ground,” he said.

Last week, some PF officials were involved in a brawl with the police during a protest against what they claimed was ineffectiveness of the provincial minister.
