The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) says it is upgrading and automating its business operations and processes to improve the service delivery while continuing to deliver revenue to the Government.
ZRA commissioner general Kingsley Chanda said the Authority has created a division that would be responsible for modernisation at the higher level in terms of technology.
Mr Chanda said soon all the systems would be integrated to make it faster for your tax payers to interact and transact with the Authority.
He said the mission of the Authority was to optimise and sustain revenue collection through the integrated, efficient, cost effective and transparent systems.
Mr Chanda was speaking in Kitwe during the launch of the electronic queue management system yesterday.
Mr Chanda said an efficient queue management system was an indicator of a management which was focussed on the client who was an important taxpayer to Government.
He said not only would the system reduce on the waiting time, but would also provide a feedback mechanism that would help the Authority to identify the areas of service that required further improvement. The commissioner general said the system would help to monitor and manage staff performance which would ultimately culminate in increased revenue collection and a more enjoyable taxpayer experience.
“The electronic queue management system is yet another achievement in our vision to be a world class service organisation,” said Mr Chanda.
Mr Chanda commended the German Government for supporting the queue management project and the Authority’s quest to maximise the revenue collection in Zambia.
He said over the previous years the Authority had embarked on an ambitious modernisation drive which has seen ZRA modernise its systems because the queue management system was launched in Lusaka last year.
