ACTIONAID Zambia would like to extend its warm congratulatory message to the New Heritage Party President Ms. Chishala Kateka for filing in her presidential nominations ahead of the August 12 polls. She has indeed set the bar high as the only woman to file in a nomination at presidential level.
As an organisation that advocates for women participation to take up positions aimed at influencing decision making at the highest level, ActionAid Zambia is delighted with this development as it is in line with the regional and continental commitments that Zambia had made such as the SADC and AU gender protocols.
ActionAid Zambia therefore urges the country to be gender sensitive in creating a conducive political environment that allows for effective women participation in decision making structures at all levels.
ActionAid Zambia hereby wishes Ms. Chishala Kateka the best of luck in her political career.
