NDC FACTION WARNS SABOI IMBOELA

By NOEL IYOMBWA

IT is lawlessness of the highest order for Saboi Imboela to continue masquerading as NDC acting president when she was cited for contempt of court over the same matter, NDC faction vice president Edward Mumbi has charged.

Mr Mumbi said the contempt matter against Ms Imboela was coming up on June 29, this year in the Ndola High Court.

He said in an interview that it was wrong for Ms Imboela to go to the PF secretariat and claim to be representing the NDC as its leader.

“She and Dr Chishimba Kambwili were cited for contempt of court and that the matter is coming up on June 29, 2021 in the Ndola High Court,” Mr Mumbi said.

He said that Ms Imboela and Dr Kambwili had nothing to do with the NDC because the two were no longer members.

Mr Mumbi said none of the two should be masquerading as members and endorsing candidates on behalf of NDC.

He said Ms Imboela was disregarding the court of law because the two were cited for contempt of court.

Meanwhile, Mr Mumbi has advised the Patriotic Front (PF) to stop supporting lawlessness by embracing Ms Imboela whose matter was in court.

He said that the PF was a party in government hence should respect the rule of law.

“My advice to the PF is that the party should not be supporting lawlessness because it is the party in power so it should lead by example why welcoming Ms Saboi when they know very well that she was cited for contempt of court and the matter is coming up next month.

“What she is doing offending the law and for the PF to invite her is total disregarding of the law,” Mr Mumbi said.

Ms Imboela recently joined a list of political parties endorsing the candidature of President Edgar Lungu ahead of the August 12, general Elections.

She said the decision to endorse President Lungu has the blessings from the party structures countrywide.

She however said that the party will field candidates at Parliamentary and Local Government level.

Ms Imboela also charged that the selfishness of UPND president Hakainde Hichilema is what chased NDC away from the alliance.
