Paramount Chief Mpezeni of the Ngoni people has taken a swipe at those that just talk and think running government is easy.
The chief has noted that running a government is through tangible actions that impact positively on the welfare of the people and not mere public talk.
The traditional leader who has since hailed President Lungu for his leadership has urged the head of state to continue on his developmental trajectory meant to improve people’s lives.
This came to light when Neria’s Investments general manager Martin Chaikatisha paid a courtesy call on him to update him on the farming inputs distribution exercise.
The traditional leader is happy with government’s consistency in the delivery of farming inputs and gratified that just like last year, government has this farming season already started delivering inputs on time.
Chief Mpezeni has praised President Lungu for the consistency and sound leadership in the agriculture sector that have resulted in many farmers getting rewards for their hard work.
The traditional leader who has also welcomed the upward adjustments of the maize floor price to K150 , said it was commendable that government has considered the plight of farmers.
He has since encouraged Neria’s Investiments who government has contracted to deliver the farming inputs, to continue with their hard work of supporting President Lungu’s desire to see a food secure nation.
“It’s hunger that triggers civil unrest. Many countries who have had people protesting is as a result of being hungry,” he said with a call to ensure promotion of both domestic and national food security to be enhanced.
He said government has scored on many key development issues adding that not everything can be achieved overnight.
And Neria’s Investiments General Manager,Mr Martin Chaikatisha assured the chief that all the inputs are in the province and that farmers have started depositing the FISP contributions.
