PATRIOTIC Front (PF) Presidential running mate, Nkandu Luo, has cautioned former miners not to be cheated by some politicians who were behind the fraudulent privatisation of the mines.
Proffessor Luo said such people had nothing to offer apart from cheap talks and politics.
She said the PF was on the right track to save the mining industry which was disturbed by privatisation.
Prof Luo said some investors were arm twisting Government such that Zambians could not benefit from the mines.
“Most mines on the Copperbelt were on the verge of collapse but President Lungu took a bold decision to save Konkola and Mopani Copper Mines,” she said.
Prof Luo assured miners on the Copperbelt that the PF would ensure Zambians benefited more from the natural resources the country was endowed with.
She maintained that the PF was always concerned about the plight of miners, stating that it would save their jobs and make their lives better.
She however advised the miners to take advantage of various empowerment programmes undertaken by the government so that they could venture into other activities such as agriculture.
