LUSE MONTHLY TURNOVER HITS K23M

A TOTAL of K13.45 million shares were transacted on the Lusaka Securities Exchange (LuSE) in May.

This resulted in a market turnover of K23.01 million, according to monthly news flash produced by the LuSE.

It indicated that 642 trades were recorded in May, stating that this included trading activity in Copperbelt Energy Corporation (CEC) Africa, which is trading as CCAF on the quoted tier.

Meanwhile, the LuSE All Share Index (LASI) closed the month at 4, 246.55 points, increasing by 3.65 percent from its close in April 2021.

It indicated that the market closed on a market capitalisation of K58.74 billion including Shoprite Holdings representing 1.10 percent increase from its close in April this year and K24.49 billion excluding Shoprite Holdings posting a 2.69 percent rise from its close the previous month.

Shoprite Holdings is a dual listed Security.

It indicated that annual rate of inflation for May 2020 was recorded at 23.20 percent.

The statement indicated that bonds of total face value of K4.98 billion were transacted in 126 trades, resulting in a bond turnover of K2.47 billion.

It stated that the market recorded a net outflow of US$159, 655.
