FORMER FIRST LADY MRS ESTHER LUNGU’S ABSENCE AT INAUGURATION, A RESULT OF LEG INJURY

Wife to former President of the Republic of Zambia, Dr. Edgar C. Lungu, Mrs ESTHER Lungu has been nursing a leg injury which she sustained when she tripped on a stairway last week, sources have reveled .

Mrs Lungu’s absence at the inauguration ceremony of 7th President of the Republic of Zambia, HE Mr Hakainde Hichilema had people speculating as to why she was not by her husband’s side when he was handing over power to the New President .

Social media has been awash with speculation over the absence of the former first lady at the national event .

Some suggested she was hit hard by the reality of no longer being 1st lady whilst others said President Lungu and herself are not on speaking terms .

Former President Dr. Edgar Lungu arrived at the handover ceremony in the company of his daughter , Chawama lawmaker Mrs Tasila Lungu Mwansa .

But news has emerged that former first lady Mrs Lungu was absent because she has been in pain from a sprained knee which she sustained last week when she tripped on a staircase .
