By SIMON MUNTEMBA

THE Patriotic Front (PF) has directed its security wing to take charge and protect members of the public and party rank and file from ruthless suspected UPND cadres who are on rampage hacking people.

PF Lusaka province chairperson Kennedy Kamba said it was apparent that the Police have failed to protect members of the public and his party members from the brutal UPND cadres and it was high time they took charge before more lives were lost Mr Kamba said the ruling party will no longer allow the UPND cadres to continue brutalizing the people in Lusaka.

“And we have information that they (UPND) have now started creating campaign centres closer to polling stations. I am directing my youths through youth provincial chairman (Daniel Kalembe) to make sure that they dismantle those grouping of criminal elements that are creating centres near polling stations with the aim of instilling fear and brutalizing would be voters in PF strongholds.

He said the PF was broken, saddened and deeply shocked at the   brutal killing of  their two members identified as Teddy and Danny who were brutally killed at our Nakatindi ward office, in Kanyama by UPND thugs.

As the PF in Lusaka, he said, we will not sit with folded arms and watch the UPND kill our members in cold blood. This savage behavior must be stopped and culprits must be brought to justice.

And PF media director Antonio Mwanza said some of the  militia that the UPND has recruited were foreigners.

Mr Mwanza said, “No any normal human being can do what they did. It is clear that some of them are not even Zambians, they are foreigners. This is what we meant when we said the UPND were training the militia. They have gone ahead to recruit hard core criminals, ex- prisoners and ex- service men whom they have unleased on innocent Zambians.”

He said the UPND had hired thugs to disrupt elections because they have realisedthat they were headed for the sixth loss.

Mr Mwanza said the UPND leader needed to be retired from the political arena through the nallot paper because he had become toxic.

PF Kanyama constituency candidate, Elizabeth Phiri said the thugs that killed PF members were ferried to her constituency by the opposition party.

Ms Phiri however urged the PF members not to revenge but leave everything in the hands of God.
