‘THERE IS NO TIME TO WASTE’

Dear Editor,

WHY should the government wait for some time to investigate former ministers if they are suspecting them of corruption? There is nothing wrong for the government to start investigating those who are suspected of corruption.

And the earlier the better. What the government is doing is great because it will send a clear picture to those who think that being a minister is a permanent job that makes them start stealing and misusing public funds.

The new President, Mr Hakainde Hichilema must be supported by all Zambians to deliver on the many promises he made, including the fight against corruption. It’s an insult by the Green Party President Mr Peter Sinkamba to Zambians to ask President Hichilema and the government to stop investigating former ministers claiming that it’s too early for investigation.

This is what the people wanted in the first place and I believe that this is the more reason they voted out the PF because they believed they are corrupt. My call to President Sinkamba therefore is that we support the UPND and Mr Hichilema’s administration the same way we supported the PF government through offering credible checks and balances.

We should bear in mind that the reasons why we want our political parties to govern is because we want to serve and improve the lives of our people and not stealing public funds when we have no medicines in our hospitals. SHAAPE KABWE MPOSA, People’s Alliance for
