WHO IS THE REAL UPND ALLIANCE SPOKESPERSON?
By NATION REPORTER
IN what can be described as a scramble for positions, confusion yesterday erupted in the UPND Alliance over the appointment of media director and transition spokesperson.
Earlier UPND Alliance Spokesperson Leslie Chikuse reportedly announced that in a quest to restructure and strategising the alliance media team, former Post News Paper deputy news editor Mwala Kalaluka was appointed interim media director, replacing Mr Thabo Kawana.
Later, UPND Alliance chairperson Charles Milupi announced the nullification of Mr Kalaluka’s appointment.
Mr Milupi in a statement said Presidents’ Council of the UPND Alliance had not made any changes relating to the Alliance media director position and that Mr Kawana remains alliance media director.
He said Mr Kalaluka was appointed with immediate effect as a director of communications for the UPND Alliance.
He said Mr Kawana was going to ensure responsible media programmes are coordinated for the UPND Alliance while Mr Kalaluka will ensure effective communications such as press statements for the UPND Alliance.
And President-elect, Mr Hakainde Hichilema in a twitter posting clarified that in order to ensure transparency during the transition period, MrAnthony Bwalya was his spokesperson.
This is despite Brian Mwiinga calling himself transition Spokesperson/secretary to the President-elect office, in all the statements issued.
