UPPZ leader Charles Chanda has encouraged Zambians to take interest investing in the emerald sector. Mr Chanda said the emerald sector was lucrative and if many Zambians went into extracting the mineral it would bring wealth to the country. He said Zambia has first grade emeralds which are very expensive on the international market.
“Zambia did you hear that your reserves stand at 1105 kg of the first grade emeralds. Just one mine is equal to the reserves of the entire country. Meanwhile, Mr Chanda has appealed to President Hakainde Hichilema to help recover the 340, 000 hectares of land in the Northern block given to a Chinese consortium for farm blocks. “We have no other country and every land you give away reduces our country.
‘’We can allocate that land to all graduates of agriculture disciplines,” Mr Chanda said.’
