‘New Chongwe town will stimulate growth’
By NOEL IYOMBWA
THE creation of a new town in Chongwe district will create employment for the youths, former minister Kenneth Chipungu has said.
He said in an interview that the creation of a new town would result in many industries being set up hence creating employment for many youths.
Mr Chipungu said that the Bunda Bunda Royal Establishment was delighted with the development as it would change the face of Chongwe district.
He said that for a long time, the area had lagged behind in terms of development and that this would be historical.
Mr Chipungu advised members of the public to buy land in the area as the authority was currently demarcating land for interested members of the public.
“The setting up of a town will create employment for many unemployed youths in the area as many industries will be set up.
“So we are appealing to all Zambians to come get plots in this area as the land is good and fertile for agriculture,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mr Chipungu has congratulated Mr Hakainde Hichilema for being elected seventh Republican President.
He expressed confidence the new president would execute his duty diligently and called on Zambians to rally behind Mr Hichilema to move the country forward.
