GBM: PF STRATEGISES FOR 2026 – WITH THE AIM OF BOUNCING BACK IN POWER

By SILUMESI MALUMO

ZAMBIANS should not be worried that I am quiet after my party lost the 2021 Presidential elections because we are reflecting and strategizing for 2026 general elections, PF national mobilisation Chairperson, Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba, commonly known as GBM has said.

Mr Mwamba attributed to PF loss in the August 12 elections to lack of proper planning and strategy.

In an interview yesterday, Mr Mwamba said there is need for proper planning in order for the party to come back in power.

“What made us lose 2021 elections is that we didn’t have a proper plan as a party. This time around we shall not go in the field without a clear plan.  We shall ensure that we plan and go on the ground,” he said.

He said his team would soon embark on mobilisation in readiness for the 2026 elections.

Mr Mwamba said speculations that he was planning to ditch PF were false as he was a confident and proud member of PF.

He said as chairperson for PF Mobilisation, he was making plans together with the party leadership to ensure that the party bounces back in power in 2026.

“Right now, I am in Kasama reflecting and consulting with the party leadership on how best we can plan for 2026 as we rebrand ourselves. When I get back to Lusaka, I will do all I can to ensure that things move in the right direction,“ Mr Mwamba said.

Mr Mwamba said as an opposition political party they would ensure that things move in the right direction.

He said the party’s aim was to ensure that it bounces back and serve people appropriately.

Mr Mwamba was reacting to insinuation that he was planning to ditch the former ruling party after the 2021 general election defeat, and his subsequently elusiveness from the public and media platforms.
