SENIOR Chief Madzimawe has challenged fellow chiefs not to shun working with the government of the day because they were partners in fostering development.
Senior Chief Mazimawe of the Ngoni people of Eastern Province in an interview said chiefs needed to work with the government and not sideline themselves.
He said that it was supposed to be a two way thing as presidents also should never be selective on which chief to work with.
Senior Chief Mazimawe said that it would be wrong for the President to be segregating because chiefs helped in the governance of the country.
‘’Personally I feel this goes to both us the chiefs and the people in government, we need to work together for the betterment of the country and not unhealthy relationship where people don’t want to even meet eye to eye,” he said.
Meanwhile Senior Chief Mazimawe dispelled rumours that recently President Hakainde Hichilema shunned Chief Chitimukulu of the Bemba people during his tour of the province.
