GOVERNMENT PLACES HIGH PREMIUM ON SAFETY OF ZAMBIANS -KAKUBO

Thirty one Zambian families based in Ethiopia that were evacuated by government have arrived in the country .
Ethiopia is at brink of a fully-fledged civil strife between the government forces and rebels loyal to the Tigryan Liberation Front who are advancing towards the capital.
The Ethiopian Arline carrying the Zambian families touched down at the ZAF Lusaka Airbase at 3:40 hours and was received by Foreign Affairs Minister Stanley Kakubo, WHO and Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit staff .
And Mr Kakubo said the government placed high premium on the safety of Zambians anywhere in the World and that it was for that reason that President Hakainde Hichilema ordered for the repatriation of the Zambian families in Ethiopia.
He said essential Zambian staff at the Embassy, UN and African Union have remained behind and that any Zambian that may have remained behind.
