MOH IN OMICRON SCARE
Minister of health Sylvia MASEBO says her ministry is studying three cases of Zambians that have tested positive for Covid 19 after they traveled to South Africa, to establish if they have traits of the new omicron Variant.
She said this at a briefing held in Lusaka.
And the minister who is set to issue a ministerial statement in the National Assembly on the new Covid 19 guidelines, has insisted that the requirement that a certificate be provided as proof of vaccination for civil servants and members of the public that want to access government offices is in public interest.
The health minister said government had little options and that taking drastic decisions was invertible as it continues consulting.
In the last 24 hours, 12, 239 people have been vaccinated.
“Human rights is another debate. Those who are vaccinated have rights those who are not vaccinated also have rights, ” she said
She said what government was doing was to put more pressure on the people toa get vaccination.
She noted a sharp increase in the people going out to get vaccinated.
