School appeals for air cons for computer lab

By ANDREW MUKOMA
TWABUKA Community School in Simonga area in Livingstone district has appealed to government and well-wishers to help the school in acquiring air conditioners for its computer laboratory.

School authorities say that the learners were having difficulties in attending lessons in the computer laboratory due the high temperature in the room.
Head teacher Regina Jere has observed that the weather was both not conducive for the computers and the learners because it was unprecedented.

Ms Jere said it was because of this that the school was appealing to well-wishers to help the school acquire air conditioners to affectively carry out the ICT learning process.
Twabuka Community School is one of the 71 learning institutions that has benefited from ZICTA through the donation of 20 computers, a printer and learning software to promote e-learning under the COVID-19 pandemic which affected the school curricy.
In view of this, the provincial administration through the provincial minister Cornelius has donated an air conditioner to the school.
Mr Mweetwa was hopeful that his office’s gesture would inspire the business community in Livingstone to come to the aid of the school.
