ACC risks embarrassing HH – Sinkamba

By ADRIAN MWANZA
THE Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and other investigative wings risk embarrassing President Hakainde Hichilema because they may try to push an agenda that may undermine him, Green Party President Peter Sinkamba has said.
Mr Sinkamba, who condemned the revelation that the ACC was still investigating the purchase of 42 Fire tenders, said the agencies needed to focus on matters where they had evidence and on the issue of the tenders they had done their investigations in the past but failed to pinpoint any wrong doing or culprit.
He said the fire tender investigations was a waste of time and that they risked 11111q11111q111q1tarnishing the name and image of the President because most people would perceive the investigations as having the blessing of Mr Hichilema.
“These people have an agenda and if the President is not careful, he risks being dented because the issue of the fire tenders is neither here nor there,” he said.
Mr Sinkamba said the law enforcement wings have an agenda to either promote or undermine government.
He said that the President made it very clear that his government would follow professionalism and urged the security agencies to deal with issues on a professional level.
Mr Sinkamba said the issue of the fire tenders was an issue that was a clear witch hunt because they did not have any evidence.
He said that there were a lot of missing links and it was not a case that the ACC needed to take up most especially considering what happened in the past.
Mr Sinkamba said time had gone when organisations like ACC and other institutions were used as tools to fight political battles.
