The Reformed Church in Zambia (RCZ) says it is too early for Zambians to judge the new dawn administration.
The church, that has existed before the country’s independence in 1964 says Zambians need to be patient with the new dawn administration before judging them.
RCZ Synod Moderator Ackson Banda says President Hakainde Hichilema’s new dawn government has only been in power for less than four months hence it’s too early to judge and therefore should be given time.
Speaking in an interview with ZANIS on the sidelines of a mass ordination for reverends and pastors in Lusaka yesterday, Reverend Banda however said the church is hopeful that the new government will deliver a better Zambia.
“There is that hope. Of course we are seeing a few cries here and there, that is expected but I think the President has been very categorical and indicated in black and white that he is there to serve Zambia. He will not entertain corruption and that all corrupt elements will be dealt with,” the clergyman said.
And Rev. Banda said the church is in full support of the government’s fight against corruption.
Pointing to the many strides by government against the vice among them being letting the investigative wings to freely operate, the clergyman said corruption is a cancer that destroys the development of a country.
Meanwhile nine pastors from across the country have been ordained into ministry under RCZ.
