Men advised to support pregnant partners

CHINGOLA Mayor Johnson Kang’ombe has expressed disappointment that there are still male spouses that do not support their partners during and after pregnancy.

Mr Kang’ombe said it was disheartening to note that some men were allowing their spouses to be admitted without the necessities for delivery.

He said it was every mother’s right to have all the delivery necessities before and during putting to birth for the safe delivery of the child.

The Mayor was speaking shortly after delivering hampers to Christmas babies at various Health Centres in the district.

” It is a saddening situation to find a woman who is ready to deliver not having the necessities to receive her newborn baby.

” Men should be responsible enough when they know that their spouses are expecting and bringing life into this world,” he said.

Mr Kang’ombe further urged the male spouses to ensure that they did everything possible to see to it that their partners did not lack anything or undergo any stress during and after pregnancy.
