Detach Nalikwanda from Mongu, says Mayor

By MUKWIMA CHILALA in Mongu

Nalikwanda Constituency  should be detached from Mongu by turning it into a district because the area was too vast, Mongu Mayor Matakala Nyambe has appealed to President Hakainde Hichilema.

Mr Nyambe says that the Constituency is too vast , therefore making it   difficult for the council to deliver services.

Mr Nyambe said this when UPND National Youth Chairman Gilbert Liswaniso paid a courtesy call on him as he is in the province for his party’s mobilization meetings .

The Mongu Mayor charged that the government should consider separating Nalikwanda from Mongu like has been done with Nalolo and Limulunga which are now.

And Mr Nyambe has observed that the coming in of decentralization Policy will help alleviate poverty in the Province which has the highest levels  in Zambia .

Meanwhile Mr Liswaniso observed that the party’s youth  will continue playing its role in uniting the country by working to eradicate cadrism in key sectors .

He said that the youths in his party will continue to support civil servants by not interfering in their work .

The UPND National Youth Chairperson is on party mobilization drive where he is also sensitizing members on the need to form cooperatives and has since toured all the 16 Districts the province.
