Drivers ask for easy tax system

By ROGERS KALERO

NOAH buses operators and Pirate taxi drivers in Kitwe have asked the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) to come up with a flexible payment plan or system which will not be inconveniencing to them as tax payers.

Joseph Bwalya said the ZRA should make its payment system flexible like that of the Kitwe City Council (KCC) where they collect levies from the bus stations as opposed to the bus operators driving to the ZRAto make payments where their system is mostly down

Mr Bwalya was speaking during an engagement meeting organised and chaired by Kitwe Mayor Mpasa Mwaya at Sacred Heart Parish of the Catholic Church in Kitwe and attended by more than 200 Noah buses operators and t pirate taxi drivers.

He said Noah bus operators were ready to start paying to ZRA, but their payment system or plan was time consuming which if followed , their work could be adversely affected.

“We are not against paying to ZRA , but their payment system is bad and needs to be worked on. ZRA should come up with a flexible payment plan or system which will not be inconveniencing to us as tax payers.
