ZAMBIANS in general and the electorate in Kabwata constituency in particular must not trust the UPND any more because the ruling party has exhibited mediocre leadership which has failed to bring hope to the majority of the poverty-stricken Zambians, the Patriotic Front (PF) has said
The PF has also said the UPND has failed to provide inspirational and formidable leadership as evidenced by its continuous waffling in the more than 100 days it has been in government hence the best choice for the electorate in Kabwata was its candidate, Mr Clement Tembo with traceable track record from a political party which has a record of caring for the poor
PF Copperbelt Media Director Munalula Moola said the mediocre leadership of the UPND has not only failed to bring hope to the majority of Zambians, but has also failed to show respect and regard to the ordinary Zambians by chasing them from the streets like criminals without engaging them like the PF used to do.
In an interview ahead of the January 20, 2022 Kabwata parliamentary by-election, Mr Moola said the conduct of the UPND in the more than 100 days they have been in government was an insult to the majority of the poverty-stricken Zambians who voted for them in anticipation for respect, affordable mealie meal, cooking oil, fuel and electricity tariffs.
He said it was sad that, apart from bullet biting policies which have put the cost of lives of an ordinary Zambian beyond reach, the UPND have continued to show lack of respect for the majority Zambians and have endorsed violence through its chairman for special duties, Mr William Banda.
“To say the truth, the UPND has continued to lose the confidence of the majority of Zambians because it campaigned on lies, propaganda and fake promises. So because they campaigned on lies, they have nothing to tell the people of Kabwata, apart from violence and intimidation.
Mr Moola said the zeal which majority of Zambians had when voting out PF and ushering in the UPND in government was slowly fading away because the actions of the new government leadership was not inspiring or giving them hope.
He said the route taken by the “new dawn” government to remove subsidy on fuel and electricity will not help the country to achieve economic recovery, but will only serve to worsen the poverty and hunger situation in the country.
