...when the law catches up with them they will cry political persecution, says UPND spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa

PF is deliberately insulting President Hakainde Hichilema so that when the law catches up with them, they can claim political persecution, UPND spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa, has said.

Mr Mweetwa said the party is not surprised that the former ruling party has made politics of insults their daily bread but that the party has appealed to its members to be calm and not fall for the PF well calculated ploy.

He said the PF should remember that the right to freedom of expression does not mean trampling on other people’s rights.

Mr Mweetwa said criticism should be about informing the government on shortcomings and not about insults as was the case with some individuals in the opposition who are abusing the freedom of expression.

He wondered why the PF have found it fashionable to spread politics of hate speech, tribe discrimination and segregation when they are well aware that part of the reasons why Zambians kicked them out of government was due to failure to realise that this was wrong.

Mr Mweetwa said some individuals in PF should accept that they lost election and begin to rebrand in an acceptable manner without injuring the persona of any fellow citizen.
