THERE is need for stakeholders and even members to come forward an assist with resources to help host the Patriotic Front’s elective convention slated for June, PF acting Chairperson Davis Chama has said.
Mr Chama in an interview said they were frantically scouting for resources to hold the convention which would see the party usher in new leadership.
He said the party was still sticking to hold the elections in June but that they would consider proposals from other stakeholders on a tentative date.
“I can confirm that we indeed need money to host this huge event which will see over 6, 000 delegates take part,” he said.
Mr Chama said that the June date was not final as there were a number of factors that had been overlooked and that they might reconsider depending on the members.
He said that it was not up to him to decide or dictate but the general public who had the final say in the process.
“There are a number of issues that we are looking at like the budget which unfortunately I cannot tell you the actual figure,” he said.
Mr Chama said that the party would not force anyone to contribute but that he hoped that members would be magnanimous enough to ensure that they donated.
