PF tells UPND to stop singing its own praises

By ROGERS KALERO

IT is a mockery to the majority poverty-stricken Zambians for the new dawn administration to be bragging or singing its own praises when hunger and poverty levels have continued to worsen in various communities,’ the Patriotic Front (PF) has said

PF Copperbelt Deputy Media Director Munalula Moola said, while the new dawn administration and its cadres were singing their own praises in terms of their performance in the seven months, they have been in government, the hunger and poverty situation in various communities has continued to worsen

In an interview in Kitwe yesterday, Mr Moola said the new dawn administration must get out of the “comfort zone” of their offices and get down to feel the mood of the people, the poverty and hunger situation in communities

Mr Moola said, the majority poverty-stricken Zambians were now shocked that the new dawn administration was praising itself for having performed better in seven months of being in government when the poverty levels had actually worsened

“When you are republican President or a leader in any system, you don’t brag or sing your own praises. No. You instead work hard to deliver to the aspirations of the people you are leading, but for our colleagues in the new dawn administration, it is the other way round

“Yes, it is the other way round. It is actually the leadership of the new dawn administration praising themselves, instead of people praising them.

“The sad part is that, while they are praising themselves, poverty levels are worsening in communities.

“People are wondering why they are praising themselves in the midst of the worsening poverty situation,’’ Mr Moola said

Mr Moola said Zambians must not trust the UPND anymore because the ruling party has exhibited mediocre leadership which has failed to bring hope to the majority of the poverty stricken Zambians

He said the UPND had lost the confidence and trust of the people in less than six months it has been in government such that it cannot win a free and fair by-election because Zambians have come to realise that it was a brutal, divisive and incompetent government.

He said the UPND has failed to provide inspirational and formidable leadership as evidenced by its continuous waffling in the less than six months it has been in government.
