PF struggles to raise funds for convention

By NATION REPORTER

THE Patriotic Front (PF) is racing against time to host its elective general conference slated for next month as the party has not received any donations from members and even well-wishers, national chairperson Davis Chama has said.

Mr Chama in an interview said so far, the coffers were empty as no one had donated despite only a few days remaining to June.

He said he was sure that people would come forward and help the party meet its K5 million budget to host the convention which would see the ushering in of a new party president.

“I’m calling on all well-wishers to come on board and help us meet the budget which will enable us to host this event,” he said.

Mr Chama said he was not worried despite the time running out because there were people that had indicated that they would contribute but did not want to be known.

He said the hosting of the convention was dependent on the raising of funds by the party but that people needed not to worry.

“I want to be honest with you, we have not received anything in our contribution accounts but we hope to pick up steam as the days go by,” Mr Chama said.
