Ruling United Party For National Development –UPND youths have described Kabushi Member of Parliament Bowman Lusambo’s apology as cosmetic.
Mr Lusambo on Saturday apologized to President Hakainde Hichilema and the first family for the way he has previously conducted his politics and says he will change his approach to politics.
But UPND Lusaka Province chairman Anderson Banda says Mr Lusambo’s apology is cosmetic and that he is doubtful the Kabushi Member of Parliament will change the way he conducts politics .
Mr Banda says the Kabushi Member of Parliament has only rendered an apology simply because he wants to be shielded from prosecution and that an apology should not mean someone has been given immunity from prosecution if they have committed an offense.
Mr Lusambo said he may have said hurtful words towards the President and that he similarly said bad things about, but nonetheless, asked for forgiveness. He has pledged to conduct politics devoid of insults or demeaning words towards the presidency.
