PF CHALLENGES GOVT TO OPEN OFFICE OF SIXTH PRESIDENT

By MERVIS MUSONDA

The Patriotic Front (PF) has challenged the government to open the office of the sixth President of Zambia, Edgar Lungu.

PF Information and Publicity deputy Chirperson Emmanuel Mwamba says the office is constitutional and must be fully funded by the government.

Mr Mwamba, who is  Zambia’s former Ambassador to Ethiopia, says withholding the funds for the office of the former President Lungu is illegal and shows levels of contempt towards the statesman who willingly conceded defeat in a poll almost a year ago.

Mr Mwamba called on Mr Hichilema to treat his predecessor with the respect he deserves as a former head of state because whatever he does today shall come to haunt him under another leader once he leaves office.

President Lungu´s office has not been funded for almost one year now, therefore limiting the number of activities he can engage in locally and abroad.

The PF Presidential hopeful is also concerned with prosecution of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Ms Lillian Siyuni.
