Mary Chirwa pornographic hearing awaits

By NATION REPORTER

THE matter in which Economic Front (EF) president Wynter Kabimba has dragged Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) Director General Mary Chirwa over leaked pornographic materials has failed to take off in the High Court.

Mr Kabimba has applied for a writ of mandamus and the file is with the judge awaiting allocation.

Mr Kabimba in his submission stated that it was not fair that three women from Kitwe’s Mindolo Township who had committed a similar infringement had already been arraigned while both the Police and ZICTA were silent about Ms Chirwa’s case.

Mr Kabimba filed a writ of mandamus in the High Court demanding that the ZICTA Director General and Zambia Police Inspector General release the findings of the investigation into the pornographic video allegedly involving Ms Chirwa.

The matter was still waiting for judicial review to be applied but that there has been a delay due to the backlog of cases in the office of the Judge-in-Charge.

It is now likely that soon, a notice would be given for the next date of hearing.

Mr Kabimba has taken the matter of the pornographic video involving Ms Chirwa to the High Court to compel the Zambia Police and ZCTA to disclose findings of their investigations could be made public.
