THE United Party for National Development (UPND) government will not manage to successfully amend the Zambian constitution before 2025, the Patriotic Front has predicted.
Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, Mr Brian Mundubile has projected failure by the UPND government to amend the Zambian constitution before 2025.
Mr Mundubile who is also Patriotic Front Mporokoso Constituency Member of Parliament says with previous arguments given by the UPND concerning Bill 10, there will be need for higher level consultation before any possible amendment can be made.
Mr Mundubile says he does not see the amendment succeeding any time before 2025 because the country would need to undergo a process with a higher threshold than the one that was undertaken during Bill 10.
He said under Bill 10, consultations took over two years and as such, when the country embarks on a process requiring a higher threshold, any possible amendment can only happen in 2026.
