Shut up, Kwacha residents tell MP

UPND Kwacha Member of Parliament Charles Abel Mulenga must stop singing his own praises and misleading himself that the people of Kwacha constituency are happy with him and his works when he has not done anything, apart from sending threats to those perceived to be sympathetic to former MP Joe Malanji ,” a cross section of Kwacha residents have said

The residents who identified themselves as Martha Musonda of Kwacha East Township, Sylvia Tembo of Ipusukilo township, Frank Chiboli, Ngosa Walusungu and others rubbished Mr Mulenga’s statement and advised him to keep quiet because his victory was questionable starting from the filing of nominations.

The agitated Kwacha constituency residents were reacting to Mr Mulenga’s statement that he had already started setting the stage for delivering his campaign promises in Kwacha constituency and the residents in the constituency were happy with his performance barely three months after being elected area MP.

Leading the onslaught on Mr Mulenga, Ms Musonda said Mr Mulenga should be ashamed of himself that he was elected MP when he polled 6, 596 votes in a constituency which has 65, 000 voters after Joe Malanji, the Patriotic Front candidate who was a popular candidate was barred from re-contesting the seat.

Ms Musonda said the people of Kwacha constituency wanted Mr Malanji and this was why they decided to stay away from voting on the October 21 elections after Mr Malanji was barred from re-contesting the seat after it was nullified.

“It is an insult to the people of Kwacha constituency for Mr Mulenga to claim that the people of Kwacha constituency are happy with him. What can make the people of Kwacha like Mr Mulenga? Nothing. Umwaume ni Malanji eo twaishiba ifwe not abo (meaning the only man we know is Mr Malanji, not that Mulenga).

“Mr Mulenga should keep quiet because if he continues talking we will lose respect for him because our hearts are still bleeding because of the way Mr Malanji was treated from the nullification of his victory as Kwacha MP to the time they barred him from re-contesting the seat,” Ms Musonda said.

And Frank Chiboli , a hard core supporter of Mr Malanji  advised Mr Mulenga and UPND sympathisers to get down to work to prove that  the MP was equal to the task and can match the capacity of former MP Joe Malanji.
