SENIOR Chieftainess Nkomesha Mukamambo II has implored all the districts in Lusaka Province to collaborate in fostering development in the province.

The Chieftainess said Lusaka province had a lot of potential in various sectors and that to harness development, there was need for the districts to work together.

She noted that the City of Lusaka was exponentially growing at a faster rate which had also increased the demand for service delivery on the part of the council.

The traditional leader said she was ready to participate in any form of development plans in the province as she presided over five districts, Lusaka, Chongwe, Chilanga, Kafue and Shibuyunji  in her Chiefdom.

Chieftainess Mukamambo was speaking when the Mayor of Lusaka Mr Wilson Kalumba, the Deputy Mayor Ms Chilando Chitangala and the Town Clerk Mr Alex Mwansa paid a courtesy call at the office in Chongwe.

“In the previous constitution I used to have representatives in your council but under the new constitution it is required that I sit in the council meetings myself,

“I am more than willing to do that and I wish to request that whenever you are ready invite me so that I can be sworn in as per requirement of the law before I can take my sit in full council meetings,” she said.

She also took time to congratulate Lusaka City Council for having a gender balanced leadership.

And Lusaka Mayor Wilson Kalumba said the City of Lusaka was receiving a fair share of development and that it was only prudent and proper that development was shared equally.

Mr Kalumba reiterated the call to work as a team with the tradition leadership in fostering developing in the province.

The Mayor was on a visit to introduce and also affirm that Lusaka City was committed to work with its neighbouring districts in Lusaka Province.
